MXroute 3.2 Release

We're excited to announce MXroute 3.2, a significant update that brings several important features and improvements to enhance your email hosting experience.

What's New

Domain Verification (Live June 18th)

Domain Verification is a new feature that ensures proper domain ownership verification when adding new domains to MXroute. Here's what you need to know:

• What it does: Domain Verification requires new domains to be verified through DNS records before they can be used for email services
• When it's active: Currently enabled for select users during testing phase. Will be enabled for all users on June 18th, 2025
• Important note: This only applies to domains added after activation - existing domains are not affected
• How it works: When adding a new domain after June 18th, you'll need to add a verification token to your DNS records. The token will be available in the new DNS Records section in DirectAdmin

Testing Phase

Domain Verification is currently active for select users. Full rollout happens June 18th, 2025.

Expert Spam Filtering Improvements

We've enhanced our Expert Spam Filtering system with conditional opt-out capabilities:

• Selective opt-out: You can now disable Expert Spam Filtering for specific domains when absolutely necessary
• Protection for major providers: Opt-out is automatically blocked if you have forwarders to Gmail, Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL, or T-Online to protect our reputation
• Gradual rollout: This feature is available on most servers now, with the following servers receiving it soon:
  • longhorn.mxrouting.net
  • pixel.mxrouting.net
  • safari.mxrouting.net
  • echo.mxrouting.net
  • sunfire.mxrouting.net
  • shadow.mxrouting.net
  • london.mxroute.com

For Resellers

Resellers can also use the Expert Spam Filtering plugin but need to create a menu entry in their DirectAdmin template that points to /user/plugins/mxfilter.

New DNS Records Section in DirectAdmin

We've completely redesigned how you view and manage DNS records in DirectAdmin:

• Clearer presentation: DNS records are now displayed in an easy-to-understand format
• Simplified DKIM: Getting your DKIM record is now much simpler - just copy and paste from the DNS Records section
• Domain Verification tokens: When Domain Verification goes live on June 18th, your verification tokens will be displayed here
• Better organization: All your important DNS records in one convenient location

To access the new DNS Records section:

1. Log into DirectAdmin
2. Navigate to Account Manager
3. Click on DNS Records

For Resellers

Resellers will have access to the DNS Records page, but may need to manually add /user/plugins/dns_records as a menu item in their DirectAdmin template.

New Documentation Platform

You're looking at it! We've completely rebuilt our documentation site with:

• Modern design: Clean, responsive interface that works great on all devices
• Better organization: Improved navigation and content structure
• Faster performance: Built with VitePress for lightning-fast page loads
• Enhanced search: Quickly find the information you need
• Dark mode: Easy on the eyes for late-night troubleshooting

What This Means for You

Enhanced Domain Management

With domain verification improving security, and the new DNS Records page reducing common points of confusion with our platform, this is a change worthy of being assigned to a version number.

Better Spam Control

The Expert Spam Filter is an end-user friendly name for our susranges addition. While our susranges addition is our most successful anti-spam effort to date and we need your help to iron out any remaining need with it (the whitelist request form), the ability to opt out even if just for a few days while you wait for a whitelist request to be processed, solves a pain point for enough users that this is a great change.

Easier Access to Information

As we've grown up, our documentation needs have only increased. Making sure that they are easy to search, easy to read, and high performing are important. You wouldn't bake a cake to celebrate it, but we're pretty happy about it.

Action Required

Before Domain Verification is enabled on June 18th:

1. No action needed for existing domains - they remain unaffected
2. Watch for our email with detailed instructions about the verification process
3. After June 18th, be prepared to verify new domains through DNS records when adding them
