CalDAV Calendar Synchronization
CalDAV support is integrated into MXroute's webmail interface, allowing you to synchronize your calendars across multiple devices and platforms.
What is CalDAV?
CalDAV (Calendar Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is an internet standard that allows calendar applications to access and manage calendar data on a remote server. With CalDAV support, you can:
- Access your calendars from multiple devices
- Sync events and appointments automatically
- Receive notifications for upcoming events
- Manage your schedule from anywhere
CalDAV in MXroute
MXroute has integrated CalDAV functionality as part of our webmail service upgrade. This was one of our most requested features, and we're pleased to provide it to our users.

- Seamless synchronization between your webmail calendar and external calendar applications
- Access to your scheduling information from any device
- Ability to manage calendar events through our webmail interface or your preferred calendar application
Creating a CalDAV Connection
To set up CalDAV synchronization, follow these steps:
Open Calendar in Webmail
- Log into webmail.mxroute.com
- Navigate to the Calendar section
Create the CalDAV Connection
- Locate the calendar you want to sync
- Hover your mouse over the calendar name
- Click the pencil icon to edit the calendar
- Go to the "Sync calendar" tab
- Enter a display name for the connection
- Create a password for this specific connection
- Optional: Check "Read only" if you don't want changes made from other devices
- Click "Add" button
Record the Connection Details
- The connection will appear in the connections list
- Note the displayed connection details (you'll need these to set up your calendar applications)

Once you've created a connection, you can use the same set of credentials across multiple devices and applications.
Connecting Calendar Applications
After creating your CalDAV connection, you can use the generated connection details to set up your calendar applications.
MXroute's CalDAV server is compatible with most CalDAV-enabled calendar applications, including:
- Apple Calendar (macOS and iOS)
- Microsoft Outlook
- Thunderbird with Lightning
- emClient
- Evolution
- And many other CalDAV-compatible applications

Current Status
The CalDAV functionality is part of our webmail upgrade and has been well-received by users:
- All non-legacy MXroute servers support CalDAV
- Users on legacy cPanel servers may not have access to this feature
- As with any sophisticated service, there may be occasional unforeseen issues
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with CalDAV synchronization:
- Verify you're correctly entering the connection details provided when you created the CalDAV connection
- Check that your calendar application supports CalDAV
- Try creating a new CalDAV connection if the current one isn't working
- Ensure your MX records are correctly configured
