Customizing Reseller Template

As an MXroute reseller, you can streamline the DirectAdmin interface for your customers by removing web hosting related options and focusing on email-specific features. This guide walks you through customizing the DirectAdmin Evolution skin template.

Accessing Template Customization

  1. Log in to your DirectAdmin reseller account
  2. Navigate to the Reseller Tools menu
  3. Click on Customize Evolution Skin
  4. Select the Menus section to begin editing

Account Manager Menu Items to Remove

These options are primarily related to web hosting functionality and can be removed for an email-focused service:

  • Subdomain Management - For creating website subdomains
  • FTP Management - For file transfer protocol accounts
  • Site Redirection - For website URL redirects
  • MySQL Management - For database administration
  • Hotlinks Protection - For preventing image hotlinking
  • PHP Settings - For PHP scripting configuration

Advanced Features to Remove

These more technical options can be removed to further simplify the interface:

  • Apache Handlers - Web server configuration
  • Cron Jobs - Scheduled task automation
  • Custom Error Pages - Website error page customization
  • SSH Keys - Secure shell access management
  • WordPress Manager - WordPress website tools
  • ModSecurity - Web application firewall
  • Redis - In-memory data structure store
  • Git - Version control system

Additional Streamlining

For a cleaner interface, consider these additional changes:

  • Remove the System Info & Files title section
  • Delete extra tools like Squirrelmail and phpMyAdmin

Adding Useful Email Tools

You can add these external entries to enhance email functionality:

  • Crossbox webmail client:

    • Set link to: mail.mxlogin.com
  • Snappy (webmail):

    • Set link to: https://|HOSTNAME|/snappy

Important Notes

  • The customization only affects the template your customers see
  • Your changes will apply to all new user accounts created after the customization
  • Existing user accounts will not be affected unless you specifically apply the template to them
  • The |HOSTNAME| variable will automatically be replaced with the appropriate hostname
  • These customizations focus on providing an email-centric interface by removing web hosting features

After Customization

Once you've made these changes, your customers will see a streamlined interface focused specifically on email management functions, making their experience more straightforward and less cluttered with web hosting options they don't need.
