Customizing Your Crossbox Webmail Interface

Crossbox webmail allows you to customize your webmail login page with your own branding, including a custom login URL, logo, and organization name. This guide walks you through setting up custom branding for your Crossbox webmail interface.

Prerequisites

  • An active MXroute account
  • Admin access to your domain's DNS settings
  • A logo image (minimum 1024×1024 pixels) in a supported format

Step 1: Create an Admin Account

First, you need to create an admin account for your domain:

  1. Log into your DirectAdmin panel
  2. Navigate to "E-mail Manager" > "E-mail Accounts"
  3. Create a new email account with the username admin
  4. Set a secure password and make note of it

Step 2: Access the Branding Settings

  1. Go to mail.mxlogin.com

  2. Log in with your newly created admin credentials:

    • Email: admin@yourdomain.com (replace with your actual domain)
    • Password: The password you set for the admin account
  3. Once logged in, navigate to:

    • Click on your account name in the top-right corner
    • Select "Admin" from the dropdown menu
    • Click on "Branding" in the admin panel

Step 3: Configure Your Custom Domain

  1. In the branding settings, specify your desired custom URL

    • Example: crossbox.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com
  2. Configure your DNS settings by adding a CNAME record:

    • Host/Name: The subdomain part of your chosen URL (e.g., crossbox or mail)
    • Value/Target: mail.mxlogin.com
    • TTL: Default value (often 3600)

Step 4: Complete the Branding Form

  2. Logo: Upload your logo (minimum 1024×1024 pixels)
  3. Additional branding options as presented in the form
  4. Click "Save" to submit your branding request

Step 5: Wait for Processing

After submitting your branding request:

  1. The status will initially show as "Pending"
  2. Processing typically takes several hours
  3. You will receive a confirmation email at your admin address when branding is completed
  4. Once completed, your custom login URL will be active

Accessing Your Branded Webmail

After your branding is approved:

  • You and your users can access webmail through your custom URL (e.g., https://crossbox.yourdomain.com)
  • The login page will display your logo and organization name
  • All webmail functionality remains the same, only the branding elements change

Troubleshooting

If your branding doesn't appear after 24 hours:

  1. Verify your DNS CNAME record is correctly configured
  2. Ensure your logo meets the minimum size requirements
  3. Check if you received any error emails at your admin address
  4. Contact MXroute support if issues persist

Note

Changing your branding settings later follows the same process. Simply log back into the admin panel and update your settings as needed.
